Isla Paradiso is the new scenario of The Sims 3 Island Paradise expansion pack and I must admit that the name is so perfect!
It’s an archipelago with many islands, relaxing beaches, beautiful resorts and ocean depths to explore.
The map is one of the biggest ever made for The Sims 3 and some islands are not visible but you have to discover them while playing.
The main island has a nice center with the city hall, a sea museum, a cinema, a central park and much more.
Isla Paradiso also contains an hospital, a school, a supermarket, a stadium and many entertainment places (parks, restaurants, gyms , resorts and so on).
As you can imagine it’s plenty of beaches and ports.
Isla Paradiso inhabitants live in many different ways. In addition to the classical houses, we have pile-dwellings and beautiful villas built on private and small islands.
Houseboats are one of the new features of this expansion pack and they are really great.
In order to build a houseboat you need to click on a port and select the barge weight (there are many options from 10 x 8 to 20 x 15) and style (square, boat style…).
So, you can build both small houseboats and big and luxury ones for rich Sims.
Houseboats all contain items that cannot be removed and are necessary, like the trash bin, the mail box, the helm and a boat ladder. We can create a lowerdeck and many floors.
Buy and Build modes contain items that are perfect for houseboats, like the practical ladders and an “all in one” bathroom that contains everything and where you can also Whoohoo.
There are also tables, pool chairs, beach umbrellas, a waterproof camera and much more.
A new category dedicated to boats contains paddleboats, speedboats, windsurfs, sailboats…
While a Sim uses the helm to move the houseboat to another port or in any other place in the middle of the ocean, you can play with the household anyway.
Friends, the pizza man and other Sims can reach you at any time with boats (taxi boat, sailboats and so on, depending on what they own) and you have to travel in the same way when going to school or to your work place.
Houseboat life is amazing and much better than any other living place because you can move anywhere and at anytime in beautiful places.
If you want to swim a bit, you’ll be in the ocean in a dive and you won’t envy anymore the ones that have a private swimming pool.
While your wife and sons play in the ocean water, you can fish and then cook seafood for them.
Toddlers cannot dive, but they can dip their feeth while they are on the beach and play a bit.
Diving skill is one of the new The Sims Island Paradise features and lets you explore ocean depths.
In order to get this skill, you need to snorkel a bit or attend diving classes at the science lab. Snorkeling is not as cool as scuba diving, but you can find small collectibles, like seashells and gems. It also increases entertainment need.
When you get the first Diving skill points, you’ll be able to scuba dive and follow your Sim in the depths of the ocean.
Diving places are limited and quite complex, so they are in Isla Paradiso World only. At the beginning you can explore only few of them, but once you become an expert diver, you’ll be able to explore all the available ones.
The Sims 3 Island Paradise offers many ways to customize our Sims: new clothes, accessories, traits and much more.
Let’s start with CAS (Create a Sims). The catalogue offers many clothes that are perfect for sea life, like shorts, swimsuits, elegant clothes for parties, different kinds of skirts and fashionable tops.
There are also summer shoes, sunglasses and new tattoos.
Talking about hairstyles, the women’s ones have different lengths. Men can choose between rasta and surfer hairstyles.
The 29th of May EA Italy hosted a community day and showed The Sims 3 Island Paradise to us and other Italian Sims websites.
As you can imagine by reading the title, this new expansion pack is dedicated to sea life.
In The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 it was not possible to swim in the ocean or to navigate. Thanks to The Sims 3 Seasons, Sims have been able to enter the ocean and swim there for the first time. With The Sims 3 Island Paradise you can not only play in the ocean and navigate, but you can also explore the depths of the sea, have a houseboat and discover beautiful islands, living the sea in a complete and full way.
I’m not going to tell much in this introduction because I’ll dedicate a detailed chapter for every topic.

We all received an Hawaiian kit to properly live The Sims 3 Island Paradise spirit and we had a beautiful decorated cake and many gadgets.
