Traits are very important because they define personality, give special interactions and influence wishes, skills and careers.
Some traits are not compatible with others. For example, a Sim that hates children cannot have Family-Oriented trait at the same time.
Traits and ages
When we create a Sim, we also have to choose his traits.
The number of traits increases while growing up, until reaching 5 traits in young adult stage. Babies and toddlers have 2 traits, children 3 and teenagers 4.
Not all the traits are available during childhood.
Discovering traits
If you want to discover other Sims’ traits, you have to socialize and get to know them.
Observant lifetime reward (it costs 5.000 lifetime happiness points) and Perceptive trait (it requires Ambitions expansion pack) can help us to discover traits quickly.
How to change traits
“Mid-Life crisis” lifetime reward (it costs 21.000 lifetime happiness points) lets us to change traits.
Do you want to cheat? Open debug window by pressing Ctrl + Shift + c and write “TestingCheatsEnabled True”. Then, press shift and right click at the same time on your Sim: you’ll see an option that let you to change the traits.
